Last Tuesday afternoon, 7th inst., a very large number of people," well known in society, assembled at St. Peter's Church, Eaton Square, in order to attend the marriage of Lady Constance Harriet Stuart Knox, elder daughter of Lord and Lady Ranfurly, to Mr. Evelyn Millies Gaskell, son of Mr. and Lady Catherine Milnes Gaskell, of Wenlock Abbey, Shropshire, and 'grandson of the Dowager Countess of Ports- , mouth. ' . :• The officiating clergy were the Bishop of Wakefield, the Rev. F. Ellis, vicar of Much Wenlock, and the Rev. F. Hammond, cousin of : the bride. The bridal procession was a singularly pretty one. The .bride wore no jewels, save a diamond heart locket and single stone diamond ear-rings, the gifts of.her mother. ... -. There were no fewer than 10 bridesmaids, the chief, of course, being Lady-Eileen Knox (sister of the bride). The other nine were: Miss Milnes Gaskell (sister , of the bridegroom), Miss Constance Alexander, and Lady Eileen Wellesley (cousins of the bride), Miss Rosalind Watney (cousin of the bridegroom), Lady Isabel Wodehouse (daughter of the Earl and Countess of Kimberley), Miss Esther Combe, the Hon. Rose O'Neill, the Hon.. Lilian Napier, and Miss Nina Abercromby. ,' The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Mr. Algar Howard, as best man. Included among the guests were some New Zealanders, some of whom Were the following:—The'Rev. Lyttcltou FitzGerald, Sir Arthur and Lady Douglas and Miss Douglas, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gould, Mr. 1 and Mrs.J. F. Studholme, ,Mr. Edward Pearce and Miss Pearce, Mrs. W R. N. Madocks, and; her mother-in-law; the Hon. Mrs. Madocks. Sir Walter Buller was invited, but unfortunately his illness prevented his being present. Others were: Mrs. Fox, the Misses Russell. ■''~- ' . . After the wedding ceremony, Lord and Ladv Ranfurly held a reception ait their re-, sidence, 39, Pont-street, which was very numerously attended. -Later in the afternoon, . Mr. and Lady.. Constance Milnes. Gaskell left for Townsend, Hampshire, lent by the Dowager Countess, of Portsmouth, grandmother of the .bridegroom. The bride wore a going-away dress 'of rose-coloured cloth; it was made as a skirt and bolero, showing a dainty lace blouse. A sablo toque and muff and stole completed the costume, while a' long beaver cloak, given by Lord Ranfurly, was taken as a wrap.' Of course'; the newly-married pair were the recipients of a great many costly presents, which included a pair of., silver and greenstone candlesticks, and a case, of silver, and greenstone knives, of very chaste description, from the New. Zealand Government. This present was much admired.

A fashionable wedding took place yesterday afternoon, at St. Paul's' Church. Sy-nionds-str'eet; •'■ when '" Miss Eileen Hope Lewis, only daughter of Dr. T. Hope Lewis, was married to Mr. Guy Coldham Williams, son of Mr. T. C. Williams, of Wellington. In addition "to': the invited guests, who ineluded' the Hon; Kathleen Plunket and Captain Braithwaite, A.D.C., the general public attended in large numbers in .the church and vicinity. , The ceremony was performed by the Rev. "Canon Nelson, who had officiated both at the marriage of the bride's parents and her own christening. The service was fully choral. The bride was given away 1 by her father. The bridal robs- was of rich, pearl-white satin duchesse. The skirt, bordered down each side, and round the train, with, a bold design of true", lover's knots,,, carried out in tiny boud'lore3'of chiffon, wa;s lined with Vglace silk, and 3 opened • over a dainty underskirt of chiffon, edged with a flounce of Honiton point- lace, headed by three large feather-stitched tucks; the whole being mounted on a foundation of glace silk, finished with a swirl of tiny accordconpleated chiffon frills. The bridesmaids were the ,Misses Ethna Pierce, El fie Williams, Gwen Gome, Ida Thompson, and the bride's two little cousins, the Misses Mollie and Leslie Egerton, daughters of Professor Egtrton. • The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a lovely pearl and diamond pendant, while to the bridesmaids he. presented pearl and turquoise brooches'of charming design:' The bridegroom 'was' supported by Mr. Arthur Cooper, of Wellington, as best mam The groomsmen were the Messrs. Algar and Rrl Williams, and Thomas G. Lewis (brother of the bride). After the ceremony Dr. and Mrs. Lewis held a large reception at their residence, Symonds-street. ■'

A wedding took place at the Pitt-street Methodist Church on Monday afternoon, the parties being- Miss Wiseman, of Auckland, and Mr. J. H. Gunson,' liea'd of the firm of Messrs. W. Gunson and Co; ' The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. H. Garland, and the bride was' given . away by her, brother, Mr. M. Wiseman. , The bridesmaids were Miss Winstone, Miss H. Wiseman (sister of the bride), and Miss Gunson. (sister of the bridegroom). Mr. R. Gunson. was groomsman. --.- The church was tastefully decorated for the occasion. A large number of the friends of the bride and bridegroom, were entertained at ' afternoon tea after the ceremony, at the residence" of the bride's mother.
