DEATH OF MR. RICHARD UDY.
The death is announced of Mr. Richard '.■ Udy, who passed away at his residence, Mount Eden, yesterday after r • long illness. Mr. Udy was one of Auckland's - early settlers, and for many years carried on fanning operations in the province. He took a very keen interest in municipal affairs, and for some time was chairman of the Mount Eden Roar 1 Board. He was • also greatly interested in educational matters, and occupied the position of chairman of the Auckland Education Board for several years. Mr. Udy was a man of sterling character, and his loss will be much felt by the community generally. He leaves a widow and grown-up family, for whom much sympathy will be felt in their bereavement.
