£6295 FROM 1 2041 TONS.

TOTAL TO DATE, £611,132.

During September the New Zealand Crown Mines, Limited, crushed and treated 2041 tons of ore for a yield of bullion valued at £6295. The return is the largest from the mine for the ; present year, and it is pleasing to note ' that the ore being milled continues of better grade than that treated earlier in the year. The total amount won from the mine to date if; £611,132, as shown in the following table of details: —

KOMATA REEFS. £3560 FROM 1300 TONS. TOTAL TO DATE, £173,853. During the four weeks ending October 7 1300 tons of ore were crushed and treated by the Komata Reefs Gold Mining Company, for a yield of bullion valued at £3560. The total amount won from the mine to date is £173,830, as shown in the following table of details: —

The manager of the Kapowai Gold Mining Company, Gumtown, has lodged with the Bank of New Zealand 2240z 17dwt melted bullion, valued at £581 16s, from 300 tons general dirt. NEW ECLIPSE. The manager of t.he New Eclipse Gold Mining Company's mine (Thames) reports having crushed 100 tons of ore for 790z lOdwb of retorted gold. This -represents about four weeks' work, and the value of the gold when melted down will be (approximately) £222. A previous crushing of 100 tons yielded bullion valued ■■ at £107 19* 2d.

MAHARA ROYAL. As a result of the monthly clean-up, the manager of the Mahara Royal Gold Mining Company's mine. (Thames) banked 58oz 2dwt of melted gold, valued at £170 13s 3d. WAITAIA. Tho manager of the Wailaia Gold Mining Company, Kuaotunu, has lodged in the Bank of New Zealand 3207. lßdiwt melted bullion from the plates and berdane. The value (approximately) is £100. OLD HAURAKI TRIBUTERS. Tributers in the Old Hauraki mine have, crushed 6£ tons of ore for a return of 360z 14dwt of gold. '11 value is £110 lis Bd.

£10,426 FROM 4050 TONS. TOTAL TO DATE, £399,874. During September the Talisman Consolidated Gold Mining Company crushed and treated 4050 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £10,426 16s lid. The cost for September was £1 9s 3d 'per ton, made up as follows: —Mine development, 6s 9d; mining, 9s 4d; milling, lis 6d; general expenses, Is 8d.
