THE RAILWAY STRIKES.

It is believed that, the railway strikes that have taken place are the prelude to a general strike at the end of the year. The object of the railway strikes is to cause a lack of. food in Moscow arid St. Petersburg. (Received October 25, 12.2 a.m.) St. Petersburg, October 24. Work 011 the Saratoff-Ekaterino-slav railway has stopped and 3000 railway men at. Sara toff have held' a meeting, at which they passed resolutions demanding the representative assembly suffrage, liberty of the person, press and conscience, and the right to hold public meetings. Railway communication between! St. Petersburg and Moscow stopped. The railway strike is spreading io many directions. . Nearly all the employees at) the mills and factories at Kharkoff have struck.
