CHANGE IN THE CHINA SQUADRON.

London", October 23. It is officially announced that ViceAdmiral Sir Arthur Moore, second in command of the Channel fleet, is to succeed Vice-Admiral Sir Gerard Noel in command of the China squadron, and that Vice-Admiral the Hon, A. Curzon-Ho-we, second in command of the China squadron, is to succeed Sir A. Moore in the Channel squadron.
Vice-Admiral Sir Gerard Noel lias been in command! of the China squadron sin 1903. Previously lie liad commanded the Home fleet, and l.ad been Rear-Admiral of the Mediterranean, fleet, and from 1893 to 1898 was a Lord of the Admiralty. He is 60 years of age. Vi.oeAdmiral Moore was Commander-in-Chief of the Cape and West African stations from 1901 to 1904. He visited Australia in ISS9O and 1891 as a member of the Defence Committee, which, among other things, provided for fortifications at Albany, in West Australia, and Thursday Island. Rear-Admiral Ctiron-Howe has had a varied career, and has been second in command of the China squadron since 1903.
