PARLIAMENT AT WORK.
[BY telegraph.— special correspondent.]
Wellington, Tuesday. Tub Minister for Public Works has informed Mr. Jennings that the matter of a survey of the proposed railway from Mangaroa to Ongarue will receive careful consideration when a suitable officer is available to undertake tho work. A MANUKAU RESERVE. Mr. Kirkbride is asking the Government whether they will, in the event of subdividing the harbour reserve, being sections 22 and 23, containing 356 acres, situate on the north shore of Mtuiukau Harbour, near Green Bay, far close settlement, make provision to ensure that the rents and profits of the same shall be devoted to the improvement of the Manukau Harbour and the port of Onehunga. THE WRONG BOX. More is likely to be heard of the matter that formed the subject of the breach of privilege discussion in the House last night. It has been placed in the hands'of the police, with tho view of ascertaining by whom the leaflets referred to were printed. The incident has caused much amusement in the lobbies, and the Government supporters are being subjected to a great deal of chaff regarding the accident that led to their electioneering pabulum finding its way into the wrong box.
