MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Mr. R. W. Dtek, S.M., presiding over yesterday's sitting of the Magistrate's Court, made orders 011 judgment summonses in the following cases:—Robert Stow v. A. Williams, £3 14s, the debtor to pay 3s per week, in default, seven days' imprisonment; W. Sutherland and Co., Limited, v. C. H. Newman, £10 0s Bd, debtor to pay 7s 6d per week, in default seven days' imprisonment; Bates and Lees v. P. V. Ryan, £14 8s 6d, payment within a month, in default 14 days; Sargood, Son, and Lwen, v. A. E. Langley, £34 Is 7d, payment within a month, in default one month's imprisonment; A. C. tPurehas v. Mrs. G. McDonald, £2 13s, payment within a week, in default one week's imprisonment.; Edward C. Frost v. O. Wells, £37 8s 2d, ordered to pay half within three months, and the balance within six months, in default one month's imprisonment; W. 11. Partes v. Thos. Sherson, £2 17s, payment within seven days, in default 48 hours' imprisonment; Bootmakers' Union v. Jas. Conroy, £1 Is, in default 48 hours' imprisonment; R. Stow v. H. Tait, £10 13s, payment within a week, in default 14 days' imprisonment. THE RACING PONY CASE. The case in which Messrs. Buckland and Sons Bought an order for Lindsay Cooke to restore to ,T. G. Bray (the owner) the racehorse Annoyed (seized under a distress warrant) was further heard. ' The proceedings were taken by virtue of a bill of sale, held by Buckland and Sons, over the horse for £188. In the course of argument, Mr. Burton, for Lindsay Cooke, said the bill of sale was disputed, on the grounds that it was a transaction which gave Buckland and Sons preference, over other creditors. The main contention was that the document was void through technical defects. The further hearing of the case was adjourned until halfpast nine this morning. A DIAMOND RING. The magistrate, gave judgment for plaintiff in- defendant's default 011 the claim of Miss F. Syms against George Mains, a Tuakau farmer, for the return of a diamond and gold ring, or its value, £9 15s, with costs £1 8s 6d.
