SLAUGHTERING AND INSPECTION BILL.
[BY telegraph.— association.] ■ : t Wellington, Wednesday. About a dozen retail butchers carrying on business in the oity and suburbs waited on the Minister for Agriculture this evening to- object to the.clause in the Slaughtering and Inspection Bill under which the I local body may delegate its power to establish abattoirs. The deputation approved of muneipal abattoirs, ; but .feared if they were driven to have stock killed by a company it would end in their having to buy their meat dead instead of alive. The Minister said he would take care that before any delegation was acceded.to no one would be injured. ( ,; : : -" ,
