SECRET COMMISSIONS.
MELBOURNE REEKING WITH CORRUPTION. By Telegraph.— Association.— (Received July 27, 1.10 a.m.) • Melbourne, July 26. In* the Assembly to-day Mr. Mackay, in moving the second reading of a Bill to abolish secret commissions, said that the dishonest practices which the recent Royal Commission on the butter freights question had brought to light extended into nearly every trade. Melbourne reeked with corruption, and an -honest agent could hardly hope to do business.
