PURCHASED FOR £17,500.

The business, stock-in-trade, machinery, and freehold property of the Oriehunga Woollen Company, Limited (in liquidation), was offered for sale at Mr. Mandeuo Jackson's rooms, Custom-street, yesterday. 'There was good attendance of buyers. The ■whole of the assets were offered in one lot as a going concern. The mills consist of a number of substantially-erected buildings, contained on a little over 10 acres of land, near the railway line, at.Onehunga, and'are well stocked with, up-to-date and almost new machinery. The first offer was £10,000. Prom that onward bidding became brisk by £1000 bids, till £17,000 was reached. After a little calling of the last figure, Mr. John Burns, on behalf of Mr. Brown Douglae, of London, and himself, advanced another £500, and the company's assets were knocked down to them at £17,500. The residents of Onehunga are naturally pleased at the result of the sale, as the continued working -of the mill means much to the business people of the district.
