SUICIDE OP CHIEF OFFICER.
By Telegraph —Press Association.—Copyright. ~, Mpxboktrxe, May 8. The ship Combermerc, bound from New York to Hongkong, has put in here in a disabled condition. She was partially dismasted and otherwise damaged in a gale off Cape Leeuwin. Part of the crew had refused to continue the voyage, and compelled the captain to seek assistance here. During the voyage the chief officer (Mr. Kae) committed suicide. '.
The Combermere is a British ship of 1686 tons register, and sailed from New York for Hongkong on January 14, with a cargo of general merchandise. '
