Waihi, .Saturday. Tin: usual monthly meeting of .the Waihi District High .School Committee took place last; night, when the resignation of Miss MeNamara was received. It was resolved that the Education Board be asked to reconsider the. East School question, and that it bo reminded that Mr. Seddon had said that if the application came through the proper channol ho would support it. Mr. Carter said that some time ago the chairman of the Education Board had baid that no more money would he spent on the present sohool. but on a now one. Mr. Nicholson said that the best way would he to apply to the Education Department direct. Mr. Carter said thai a short while ago the Education Board had informed the committee that the Government grant that year had only amounted to £1300. whereas they should iiave said that that was all they got under table A, for in tin* same year, under tabl« B, they had grants amounting to £2000.
