ECCLESIASTICAL.

PITT-STREET METHODIST SUNDAYSCHOOL. Services were held yesterday in the Pittstreet Methodist Church in connection with the 43rd anniversary of the Sunday-school. The church was beautifully decorated. In the morning the Rev. W. K. Tuck preached, his text being: "What manner of child will this be':" The afternoon service was taken by the Rev. Chas. Wilson, his text being: Remember now thy Creator." The Rev, 0. H. Garland preached in the evening, and took for his text: "Suffer little children to come unto Me." The soloists were the Misses Winstone, Manson, and Cladding. Each of the three services was largely attended. The services will bo continued in the church on Wednesday, "lien the Sunday-school report will be submitted. THE CENTRAL MISSION. Tho Albert-street Mission Hall was filled last evening, when Mr. John Smyth and others delivered evangelistic addresses. Mis. Hutchinson (the matron of the Door of Hope) gave a helpful discourse to Christians in the morning from Revelation 1. Special anthem- were buug by the choir. ST, STEPHEN'S SUNDAY-SCHOOL. Tim anniversary of St. Stephen's Sundayschool, I'oiisonby, was celebrated in tin* church yesterday. The morning service was conducted by the Rev. .1. M. Stoops, M.A., that ill the afternoon by tho Rev. W. Gray Dixon. M.A., and that m the evening >>>' the Rev. (>'. 13. Monro. There v.a a large attendance at each service. Special hymns and solos were rendered by tin* Sundayschool children, assisted by the choir. The lections amounted to £15. The anniversary soiree and concert will be held to-night.

ST. PATRICK'S CATHEDRAL. At St. Patrick's Cathedral, at eleven o'clock yesterday morning, Solemn High .Ma-., was celebrated by the- Rev. Father Edge, the deacons being the Rev. Father.Holbrook and Cabill. Bishop Li-mlian preached from the Gospel of the Day, taking a- his text, "1 am the. Good Shepherd." During the. day many worshippers from ail parts of the city were present. At halfpast two iii the afternoon a children's service. was conducted by the Rev. Father Holbrook. In thw evening, at vespers, the church was crowded, the Bishop preaching the sermon. A procession followed, the Blessed Sana. ment being carried by the Bishop. The service, closed with the solemn Benediction. The lu'rli altar was prettily decorated for the occasion. TIIEOSOPHY. On Saturday evening at. the rooms of th» H.R.B. branch of (he Theosonbical Society, Mrs. .Fudson lectured on "Christian and Thcosophio Conceptions of Christ." Last evening, in the rooms of the Auckland branch, Mr. B. Kent lectured to a good audience on " Stages of Evolution."
