AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A MEETixr; of the Show and Finance Committee of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held yesterday afternoon, tlio president (Mr. R. Hall) presiding.
Ellerslio Show Grounds: The secretary read a letter from tljo district traffic manager of th<> New Zealand railways, asking for information in connection with the association's new grounds at Ellerslie. A committee wad appointed to wait upon the traffic manager. It was decided to invite tenders for the leasing of ths ground at Ellerslie. This Year's Show: Mr. .1. R. Walters did not think that the association could prepare the ground at Ellcrslie in time for the snow this year ; therefore, it was more than likely that they would have to hold the annual show at Epsohi again. The committee was then instructed to wait upon Mr. P. M. Hansen. manager of the Tramways Company, in reference to lie use of Alexandra Park.
Anthrax: A letter was received from the Hawke's Ray Association protesting against the appointment of inspectors to go to Australia arid India to supervise the sterilising Of hoiiedust to be exported to New Zealand. Mr. Dick pointed out that whereas the farmers at Hawke's Bav practically imported no bonedust, Auckland farmers did. The secretary (Mr. 10. Hall) suggested that the mat tor should be left over for discussion at lie agricultural conference, to be held in Wellington in .June. The suggestion was adopted. Treasurer: It was decided to invite applications for tho position of a paid treasurer. Lectures: It was resolved to invite Mr. Lyons, (.'overnment veterinary surgeon, to give a lecture to the association, and also to ask Mr. lvinsella, Government chief dairy expert, to give a lecture in Auckland province.
