Rome, April 28. The Pope has received Mr. J. E. Redmond, M.P., in audience, and discussed with him matters relating to Ireland. The Pope then said that the National Party was the defender of Ireland's national religion, and the party's efforts to win liberty for Ireland and civil and religious rights for the Irish people by lawful and peaceful means had his sympathy and blessing.
