As the funds of the company were almost exhausted, and the capital was all called up, ♦' <> directors were reluctantly obliged to cease operations, and apply for protection'for the property, peiuli"ii reconstruction of the company. They wjre of opinion that the leads cut in the crosscut are well worthy of further trial, and t'o provide funds for this purpose they would place before the shareholders at a future date proposals for reforming the company.
