POLICE COURT NEWS. Yesterday's sitting of the Police Court -was held 'before Messrs. P. M. Maiikay and T. King. J.P.'s. Drunkenness: Two first offenders were fined ss, and ordered to par the cab fare, 2s 6d. Edward Burke, a second offender, was fined 20s and costs. in default 48 hours' imprisonment. .On Burke consenting .to a prohibition order, one was issued against him. Bad Language: A youth, George Searle, pleaded guilty to a charge of using obscene language in . Ivingslaud Road on April 25. Constable Curtain said lie had previously warned a number of youths who were always making a noise aiul vising bad language in Kingsland Road. When he arrested the accused he was on the ground with another youth using obscene language. As it was his first offence the Bench, after warning him, fined him 20s, or, in default, »43 hours. OXEHUNGA COURTS. Sittings of the Onelmtiga S.M. and Police Courts wore hold yesterday. Mr. Dyer, S.M., presided, and Sergeant J.. Twomey represented the police. Breaches of By-laws: Herbert Thurston was charged by the police with driving across the Manure Bridge at other than a walking pace, He pleaded not guilty, but was convicted and fined 10s, with costs 12«. For leaving a horse attached to a vehicle unattended, Charles Robertson was fined 10s, with costs l'Os.

CIVIL CASES. Eliza .T. Kelsall v. George Wadman: CI aim £10. This was an adjourned case. Mr. C. J. Sehnauer appeared for the claimant and Mr. ,T. R. Lundon for the defendant. An adjournment was granted, when .counsel, after a consultation, arrived at an agreement, and the case was struck out. John Dean v. Auckland Electric, Tramways .Company:. Claim £50, value of a horse alleged to' have been run down and killed by a . tramear. This case was adjourned to Auckland, and will be heard 011 a date to be appointed. Fred. Mu.rfitt v. Win. Geach: Claim £2 2s for services of a horse. Judgment .for amount claimed with costs, 6s. Mary Ann Savers v. Sidney Wade: Claim £3 ss, being- amount due for five weeks" board at 13s per week. Defendant, is a brother to claimant. Judgment for full amount, with costs 6s.
