THE AMBERLEY BURGLARY.

Christchurch, Thursday. Herbert Ai.laxdai.k, Frederick Deunett, and John Hayes were charged at Amberley to-day with having broken and entered the Amberley railway station ou.April 9, and stolen £94 18s 6d in money, a cheque for £1 10s, liostage stamps and cards of the value of £65, aud postal notes of the value of £43 3s 6d. Evidence was given that £32 was found in Hayes' back yard. Dennett, when arrested had £11 15s in Ills possession, and Allaudale, when arrested, had £19 7s 6d, together with a. complete burglar's bag, loaded revolver, and safe-dyna-miting apparatus. The men had been seen at Amberley about the time the station safe was dynamited. The case will be continued to-morrow.
