THE SEA LION.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.]

C' tintsTCHCRCH, Thursday. Tub Timani Herald says that the sea lion which took up his quarters near the Jacks Point Lighthouse is still there. It has made a home in some flax on the beach, and has worn a track through the shingle by its daily excursions to the sea in search of meals: The animal is said to be neither a hair seal nor a fur seal, common in southern waters. He is coated with curly hair, and tho nearest approach to him that the lighthousekeeper has seen is the curly-haired sea lion of tho Chincha Islands, off tjjc coast of Peru.
