PORT CHALMERS APPEAL CASE.
[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DtrxEDiNj Thursday. In connection with the Port Chalmers' appeal to the Privy Council, Mi. Adams writes to the Star, pointing out that the affidavit by the Under-Secretary foi Justice, in which the latter corrects the affidavit of the late Mr. Carew, was not put before the Privy Council. Mr. Carew stated, in error, that Mr. Grahame had been appointed chairman of the Chalmers Licensing Committee, whereas there was no such appointment, though, on appeal, the Appeal Court judges intimated that such should have been done and the other side, under instructions, declined to allow Mx. Waldegrave's affidavit to form part of the record. Mr. Adams intimates that Mr Grahame was not concerned in the appeal, and that his clients refuse to pay costs in the event of an adverse decision.
