(Received September 5, 11 p.m.) London, September 5. i In connection with the military manoeuvres that are proceeding, an extraordinary incident has happened. j A horse of the Bth Hussars, at j Baddesley, broke its leg, and a veterinary surgeon shot it in the horse lines. This act caused 50& horses to become panic-stricken, and they rushed a barbed wire fence. Here many hi them were injured severely. Most of the 500 horses traversed the camp of the 14th Hussars, and caused 500 horses there to stampede. There were thus 1000 horses peding about the county. • Seventy of them traversed Winchester, and 200 of them went on south, and plunged into Southampton Water, and some were drowned. Twenty of! the horses are dead, having broken their legs or necks, and 200 of them are still missing. ]
