THE GOVERNOR.
[BT TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Dtoedin. Monday. The Governor arrived to-night to take a formal farewtfl of Dunedin prior to going Home. His Excellency has arranged to be present at the demonstration in aid of the Veterans' Home on Wednesday, when the Williamson's Royal Comic Opera Company are repeating the theatrical carnival they gave in Melbourne for the distressed actors' fund, and by which they raised £1000. In addition to this there will bo a cadets' review, and a farewell address to the Governor by tho Araiteuru Maoris, of Otago and Southland, and the proceeds for the day are expected to swell the Dunedin contribution, to the Veterans' Homo to £1200.
