BISHOP NELGAN AT WAIHI.

Wai:ii, Monday. Bishop Nktjgan arrived (it Waihi on Saturday and addressed a very largo audience at the Academy of Music In Hi v evening. The Itov. Tvlr. Hucklnnd, vicar, provided, The Bishop referred to certain criticisms that had been passed ori portions of his charge, and said not one single reason was advanced to make hire alter that charge, nor was there any likelihood of him doing so. Everybody had their own convictions, and he demanded the rjght to have his. Opinions could lie changed, but convictions alone guided his conduct, lie was as proud an Lucifer el being the Bishop of Auckland. lie was proud of the clergy of the diocese of Auckland, because they stood together. Ho spoke about people wandering from one Church to another, and advised those prosent to stick to their own Church like a leech, for itching ears would not produce Christian conduct and help in any way the national life. The Bishoj advised the parishioner to go for a big thing in the way of a church, and not tc be satisfied with a small building. Yesterday morning the Bishop held r confirmation service at St. John's, tho church being crowded.
