THE LIQUOR LAW.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Invercaegill, Friday. In the Police Court to-day Henry Powell, licensee of the Wallacetovni Hotel, was fined £6, including costs, and two endorsements , were recorded on his license, for Sunday trading and permitting drunkenness on Ids premises. There were 12 informations in all, 11 being for selling drink to different persons. Defendant pleaded guilty. The magistrate remarked that the case showed the necessity for making it punishable for persons to be on licensed premises during prohibited hours.
