Wagering on the Groat Northern Steeplechase and Grand National Hurdle Race keeps up fairly well. The following business was recorded yesterday:—soo to 12 against Haydn and Mars, 300 to 10 Haydn and Waiwera, 500 to 5 Sudden and Tresham. Awahuri and Otairi continues the favourite selection, nud 10 to 1 is now the, best quotation about that particular combination. Awahuri and Tresham are quoted at 14 to 1, and Awahuri and Battleaxe are at 16 to 1. Cannongate is in good repute for the Steeplechase, and coupled with Otairi for the Hurdle Race, 100 to 8 is the best quotation procurable. There is no straight-out betting on either race, but there was an offer to lay 100 to 50 against Awahuri for the Great Northern Steeplechase, and 3 to 1 was offered on the field for the Grand National Hurdle Race. SCRATCHING. Dolores was scratched yesterday for the Grand National Hurdle Race.
