TOO MANY HOLIDAYS.

I [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington Saturday. Thk Wellington Employers' Association considers that there are too many holidays in the year. At a meeting of the executive, at which this question was discussed, the opinion was generally expressed that the multiplication of holidays was becoming a loss and nuisance, it being now necessary in many occupations to pay workers high rates of pay and for all overtime besides. The meeting considered there was no justice in compelling employers to pay for time not worked at all. The attempt to have a holiday on May 25 as well as on ( June 3 was condemned, and it was pointed 'out that the latter date was fixed in many awards, but the former was not. The whole question of holidays was deferred, for further consideration.
