SWIMMING.
Malcolm Champion has applied to the New Zealand ' Amateur Swimming Association (Christchurch) for removal of disqualification imposed on him by the Thorndon Club, Wellington, for non-payment of certain fees. The German Swimming Association intended considering the question oi sending a team to England to take part in the King's cup competition at its annual meeting. Habnay, the champion of Austria and Hungary, intends competing in the A.S.A. lOOydu championship, and will also take part in the race or races for the King's cup. He will arrive in London oti July 1, after competing in Berlin. ~..,. Montague Holbein announces his intention of baring another try to swim across the Channel. While admiring his pluck, I feel very sure that my old tnend is wasting his time on what is little better than " hunting a will-o'-the-wisp" (says an English writer). It must cost him a lot of time and money, and if he succeeds he will be the hero of the day, and then be forgotten. It has cost , him dearly already..
