RETIREMENT OF OFFICIALS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS .ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Friday. Mr. Beetham, S.M., of Christchurch, is about to retire, and Mr. Haselden, of Wellington, will succeed him. Mr. 'Lawson, official assignee at Auckland, also retires. Mr. R. Pope, for the past 23 years inspector of native schools, retires from the service at the end of the year on compensation.
