i' OBJECTIONS TO VALUATIONS. : [.The sitting of the Assessment Court for the city of Auckland, held to hear and deterI mine objections to the municipal valuations on the annual values of properties within ! the city, was concluded yesterday, when the ' lists for the Ponsonby and South Wards were ; dealt with, the East Ward list being also completed. Mr. H*iW. Brabant, S.M., presided. Mr. E. Hickling (city valuer) and Mr. H. W. Wilson (town clerk) appeared in support of the valuations. In several eases in which objections had been lodged there was no appearance of the objectors, - and the© valuations were accordingly sustained. In many other instances the amounts were reduced by consent. The following are the details of the cases in which the objectors appeared:— EAST WARD. H C Choyce, Queen-street, assessment raised from £614 to £705; Mrs. Fry Queenstreet, reduced by.consent from £166 to fcSU. PONSONBY WARD. - John Aulsebrook, Wharf Road, reduced by consent from £22 to £19; same, Rich-mond-street, valuation of £46 sustained on evidence; Robert Southey, Lawrence-street, reduced on evidence from £10 to £9; A. M. Bloomfield, Curran-street, reduced frorn £14 to £10 by consent; Rose R. Cross, Cox s Bridge Road, reduced by consent from £14 to £J-2; Alex. Dewar, Ponsonby Road, reduced by consent from £44 to £22; J. C. Dickey, London-street, reduced by consent from £62 to £52; C. F. Griffith, Sentinel Road, reduced from £44 to £40 by consent; W J. Harper, Vermont-street, reduced by consent from £50 to £40; W. Cecil Leys England-street, reduced by consent from £16 to £14; T. T. Masefield, Sarsfield-street, reduced by consent from £30 to £25; same, Lawrence-street and Sentinel Road, £14 and £16, reduced by consent to £5 and £15; William Mason, £24, reduced by consent to £20; same, Mason's Avenue, reduced from £21 to £6 by consent; James Maxwell, Jervois Road, reduced from £74 to £69 by consent; Mrs. M. Mulvihill, England-street, reduced from £20 to £16 by consent; L. D. Nathan, Spring-street, reduced by consent ; from £18 to £14; same, Sarsfield-street, reduced by consent • from £16 to £12; J.
