THE FURNITURE TRADE DISPUTE.
[by telegraph.—press association.] Christchurch, Monday. At a meeting of the Canterbury Trades and Labour Council held on Saturday evening, the following resolution was unanimously carried with refrence to Mr. Brown, the employers' representative, on the Court of Arbitration : — Mr. Brown having, by his recent utterances in reference to the Auckland lock-out. excited employers to commit a breach of the award, the Council write to the Minister for Labour asking that he be removed from office in accordance with clause 67 of the Act, and that in any case he be not allowed to sit on the Auckland case as he has already prejudiced the case through the public press." // v
