BAKERS PROSECUTED.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Thursday. There was a field day for bakers in the Police Court to-day. "Joseph Campbell and David Auld were fined 40s and 17s 6d costs, to be divided between them, for making for sale a two-pound loaf which* was short weight. In a case against A. P. Miller the defence was that two twopound loaves joined together were over 41b, but when pulled apart one was over, and the other under 21b, and the charge was based on the latter. A fine of 40s and costs was imposed. W. K. Latham was fined' and, costs for not having a loaf legibly stamped, arid James' Anderson \ was fined in the same amount for having used Roman numerals instead of Arabic figures. The bread in each case was full weight. William Wright, Daniel ! Georgeson, V and James Samuel, were each fined 20s and costs for not having proper weights and measures in their carts. The bread in each case was the correct weight. James Hewton was 'fined 5s for having an. unstamped weight. ■
