A PEAL OF BELLS FOR AUCKLAND.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir —As there seems to "'be a desire to have something to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Edward 11., I offer a suggestion which, to rny mint!, would bo very fitting to the occasion viz., a peal of bells for our city of Auokland, which, if placed in the tower of St. Matthew's new stone church (now building) could be heard over the major portion ot the city when ringing out the glad tidings of any great or stirring event. • A special collection could be taken at the Coronation service held in St. Matthews Church, also subscription lists; opened to which the citizens of -Auckland would no doubt give freely.-I etc., a
