WRECKAGE ON THE COAST.

■>» —- Fuetiier particulars regarding the wreckage on the coast, which was reported by some Maoris at Hohoura, about a fortnight ago, and which was thought to belong to the Norwegian barque King Oscar 11., which had sailed from Kaipara. for Glasgow a few days before, was brought to town by the Northern Company's steamer Glene'g yesterday morning. Captain T. Haultain, master of the steamer, states that the wreckage had come ashore on the East Coast 'above Parengarehga, and not on the West Coast, opposite Hohoura, as stated. . The only timber on the coast were a few flitches, branded K.T.C., whilst the report that part of a vessel had come on shore, is without foundation. It is very likely, as was surmised at J the time, that the King Oscar lost part of ; her deck load in the heavy westerly weather j which prevailed on the coast shortly after ! she sailed from Kaipara, and that the vessel j has not been wrecked as was thought.
