HAWKE'S BAY. MISCELLANEOUS VIEWS. The present issue of the Auckland Weekly News contains 50 handsome and varied pictures. The laying of the foundation-stone of St. Matthew's new church is profusely and effectively illustrated. The impressive and interesting ceremony is depicted in various phases. The procession of choir and clergy, the Freemasons' procession, the crowd in Wellesley-street watching the ceremony, His Excellency the Governor laying the stone, form large and striking views. An in- ' teresting group round the foundation-stone shows the vicar of the parish, the contractors for the erection of the church, the clerk of works, and the supervising architect.
An excellent photograph of the laying of the foundation-stone of St. George'* Presbyterian Church, Lake Tnknpuna,, by His Excellency the Governor, is given. The picture shows the ceremony being performed, and includes His Excellency the Governor, the Countess of Bnnfurly, the visiting clergymen, and a huge section of visitors and members of the church.
The Countess of Ranfurly's garden parly at Government House in illustrated with a comprehensive panoramic view, the grounds and front'.portion of Government Horse being effectively portrayed, while groups on the lawn and in the shrubbery can be seen enjoying a pleasant social function. The opening of the hunting sea-sou by the Pakurauga Hunt Club is' ever an enjoyable and friendly reunion for followers of the sport. This season's opening day is illustrated by a series of groups and views. The club members and visitors on the lawn at " Hillside," Epsom, prominent members of the club in the s,iddle„visitors being received at the master's residence, and the pack on the lawn, form an interesting series of illustrations of a popular sport. Photographs of the naval funeral accorded to the late steward to Admiral Beaumont, of the flagship Royal Arthur, mark a solemn occasion and furnish us with a knowledge of the manner ii* which our navy does honour to its dead.
Final scenes at the departure of the South Island Battalion/of the Tenth Contingent, from Lyttelton Harbour, on Ijoard the troopship Norfolk, are given. ~
Danneviike and its industries are represented in a series of views of the town and surrounding districts, accompanied by nil article on the rise and progress of the town.

A number of groups, portraits, and .niscellaneous views, together with the varied and interesting letterpress, make this issue it most attractive one, and a publication which for general interest cannot be equalled in the colony. *' The Weekly News is now Issued,'and can bo obtained from all runners and agents.
