The cargo shifted, giving the vessel such a strong list that the deck cargo, consisting of 35,000 ft of timber, had to be jettisoned. The Abcrystwith Castle is an iron vessel of 1104 tons register, and is owned by Mr. <J. G. Evans, of Liverpool, England. She sailed from Eureka for Sydney on February 13, with a cargo of timber consigned to the Kauri Timber Company,
