The- first race will start at half-past two o'clock, and it is proposed to alter the usual procedure, and instead of having largo fields and few events it is intended to have five races of three boats in each race, and the five/winners to compete in the final. By having three boats in each race of the first round, and using the: six boats of the club, a race will take place every 20 minutes, which will prove more interesting to spectators than waiting an hour between the events. Just before the final race, and so as to enable the last winning crew to havo a good spell, it is proposed to fill up the waiting time by having a coxswains', race, the coxswains rowing and an oarsman to steer, thus reversing the usual order of things. It is expected that there will be a large attendance of visitors, and every effort will be made by the management to make "president's" day one of the most successful of the season.
