BRICK- WORKERS' DISPUTE.

The Auckland Brick and Pottery Workers' Industrial Union has filed a dispute with the clerk of awards (Mr. R. G. Thomas), their schedule of demands being as follows : —

Clay pitmen, Is. per hour ; macliinemen (embracing feeder.-:, greasers, off-bearers, and skirtlers), Is per hi &.\ '\ Fireclay and ornamental brick and tile workers, Is per hour. Kiln burners (burners of other than Hoffman kilns), Is per hour; Hoffman kilnburners, Is per hour. Hoffman kiln setters and drawers : Abolition of piecework in this department. Setters and drawers, Is 3d per hour ; ciowdors, Is per hour. Kiln not to be worked .at a higher temperature than 125 Fahr. Boys: Truckers, in mixing sheds, 5s per day ; tippers, on top lift, 6s per day j general* yard.' workers, 6s per day ; boys carrying off from stool, 3s per day. The week's work shall not exceed 48 hours, and all overtime shall be aid at the rate of time and a-quarter.
