OLD AGE PENSIONS.
. ———■ ■O- '.; — ~ The commencement of judicial investigations for the renewal and granting of new claims for old age pensions in the Eden County for the current year was made yesterday, and lasted all day, before His Worship Mr. H. W. Brabant.' The deputy-registrar appeared for : the Department. The altered circumstances of many of the applicants necessitated some changes. After due inquiries .the examination of claimants, and the production of corroborative proofs the Stipendiary Magistrate authorised certificates to issue to the following persons for the full amount of £18-James Brown, James l»reston i*atnck Oumerford, Ellen Carpenter David JM Ann Watson, Mary Rennet, Patriot *>«"«> Ann Ball, Thomas Gooch, Jane J°n»J""» Cassell Jones, John Wilson, Anna Hamilton Oucksey, Alexander Stewart, Jane Ronton, Elizabeth Babe, William James Casely, Ann Maud Clayton, Mary Ann McGee Ellen O'Beirne, J Ellen Coffey, Frederick: • Ltoyd Burgess, Hannah Asher,; Joseph Fleming, Jeremiah Foley, Adolph Knersh, Adam Can U lon, Elizabeth Caution, Matthew Carroll payee appointed), Robert Irwin William Mamblyn Fergus Caliill, John Hunter (payee appointed), Alice McGrath, Charles Miller Sard Rae, Jane May. Lesser amounts were awarded as undermentioned:—Robert Mackey, £17; Sarah Chambers £14; Elizabeth Ann Honeycombe, £12 ; Jane lies, £9 Elizabeth Sibley Watt, £9; Nicholas Oliver Honeycombe, £5. To convenience a number of those whose cases were not reached after six p.m., the Bench will resume further examination into the claims and renewals on the sth prox.
