FIRING ON A BRITISH STEAMER.
■A CHINESE EXPLANATION. By Telegraph— Association.— (Received January 22, 10.33 p.m.) London, January 22. The Chinese Government has explained that the firing upon the steamer Hanning was accidental, having occurred while the soldiers were arresting robbers. Dead Bodies were produced and the explanation was accepted. _
