KAURI GUM MARKET. ' The following are our quotations of kauri gum for the week ending January 20, 1902: —White gum: Poor ordinary. £30 and upwards; fair ordinary, £50 and upwards; bold three-quarter scraped, free from nuts, £78 and upwards; East Coast, best quality, £72 and upwards; re-scraped, £118 and upwards. Black gum: Nuts, £12 and upwards; medium, free from sugar, £18 and upwards; good, £52 and upwards. Remarks on market: Supply for 20 clays of January, 390 tons. At tho wool sales Jaoomb and Son, Balme and Co., and Buxton and Ronald offered 9494 bales —a moderate selection. There was a large attendance, and strong demand for merinos from all quarters at 5 per cent, above December rates, stylish erossbreds fully 10 per cent., and slipc and shabby sorts 5 per cent, to 74 per cent. Americans are operating on best erossbreds.

• Napier. Wednesday, A.bout 5000 bales were submitted at the second wool sale of the season to-day. There was a full attendance of local arid English buyers. Bidding was animated, and prices for all bright clean on the fine side were from id to 3d better than last sale, while coarser sorts improved slightly, Half-bred fleece, in light condition, brought up to 7d; fine crossbred, 4Jd to 5Jd; coarser sorts In good' condition, 3Jd to 4d; heavier conditioned, log-stained, 2?d to old; lambs' wool, good length and condition, 3id; other sorts 2£d to 3d; pieces. 2d to 3d; bellies, 2d to 2?dlocks, Id to 2d. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. CHRISTCHUECH, Wednesday. At Addington fat cattle (166) were mostly light to handy weights, with a few good steers. Sale was dull, and there was a decline of Is per 1001b, beef ruling at 17s to 24 steers, £6 12s 6d to £8 10$; P™ e^.V» 7 £^: heifers, £5 5s to £8.55; cows, £5 5s to £7.103. Stores Were a mixed yarding. There a good sale. Fat sheep numbered about 3000. mostly ewes. Freezing wethers were in good demand, celling at £13 to £16 9s; heavier, up ™17 ios. Merinos were almost unsalable owing to the large yarding of ewes, and only one prime lot was sold at 14s 3d.
