WAIHI BOROUGH GAZETTED.
■» [BY TELEGRAPH. CORRESPONDENT.] Waihi, Tuesday. The following telegram was received this afternoon by the secretary (Mr. Ross) of the Waihi Borough Association from the Colonial Secretary —"I have approved of the application for the formation of Waihi into a borough.— G. Ward." Later a telegram was received from the Premier as follows —"Waihi Borough gazetted." The news of the borough being granted was received here with evident satisfaction on all sides. The Waihi Borough Association meet on Wednesday to arrange for a monster open-air public meeting,' to celebrate this important event.
