THE ESCAPED PRISONERS CAPTURED.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wanganui, Tuesday. Three of the escaped prisoners, McDonald, Moores, and Howard, were captured near Kai-iwi at half-past five o'clock to-night. The police have been out scouring the district ever since the prisoners escaped, and the capture was cleverly effected by Constables Campbell and Ward, working in conjunction with Constables Hughes and Clouston. The men were brought into town at nine p.m., and locked in the police cells. The other man, Thurston, 'is still at large, but has been tracked as far as Fordell, and the police are confident of catching him. - .
