\ Wellington, Thursday. The following, appointments have , been made, under the provisions of the Maori Lands Administration Act, 1900:—M;*. William Alfred Barton, stipendiary magistrate of Gisborn*, to be president, and Messrs. John Town ley, Edward Patrick Joyce, and Heta Te Kani, all of Gisborne, to bo members of the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Council; Mr. David. Scannell, Judge of the Native Land Court, to be president, and Messrs. ..; Richard John Gill, of Auckland, and Tilyi Waata Rimini, of Maketu, to be members of the Waiariki District Maori Land Council. Mr. William Pattison James, stipendiary magistrate of Mast-erton, to be president, and Ihaia Hutana, of Waipawa, and Te Whatahoro, of Papawai, to bo members of the Te Ikaroa District Maori Land Council. * Mr, W;m. James Butler, Judge of She Native Land Court, to be president, anl Messrs. Thos. William Fisher, of New \ Plymouth, Ru Reweta, of Wanganui, and, Tara/ua Marumani, of Parewanui, Bulls, to be members: of the Aotea District Maoij Land Council. Mr. Edward Clay Bloiffiehl, stipendiary magistrate of Russ\U, Bay of Islands, to be president, tnd Messrs. Henry Speer Wilson, of Glotiat, Maunu, and Kiingi Ruarangi, of Heloniville, to be members of the Tokerau District Maori Land Council.
