At the meeting of the Thrones Borough Coun- . cil this evening a letter was received from the •" \ Colonial Secretary's Office, Wellington, stating that the Minister for Publio Works could not comply with the Council's request for the placing of a Government engineer at its disposal to report on the best scheme to adopt for the drainage of the borough, owing to the large amount of work his Department had in hand.
