COROMANDEL FLOWER SHOW.

[by telegraph.OWN 1 correspondent.] Coroma>-del, Thursday. THE Coromandel County annual flower show was opened this afternoon by Mr. R. McEwan, county chairman. The show this year is much, better than any previous show held here. The exhibits in ail kinds of flowers are particularly good, and the show of ferns is greatly admired. In the vegetable class Bouie of the exhibits are very creditable. Mr. J. F. Smith "(from D. Hay and Sons) is the judge for flowers, and has given great satisfaction. Mr. Collie is judge for home-made bread, pastry, and cakes, and Mrs. McGregor for butter. Mr. T. O. Rhodes, the hon. secretary, worked hard to make the flower show of 1901 a success, and has succeeded. The exhibition of decorated perambulators and go-carts was very good. The first prize was carried off by Mrs. Frank Buddie (roses) and the second prize by Mrs. Edward Denize (pink geraniums). The following is the prize-list: — Collection vegetables: Master Arch.
