ATHLETIC NOTES.

AUCKLAND CIviOKET CLUB. The half-yearly meeting of the members of the Auckland Cricket Club was held at tne rooms of the Amateur Sports Club last evening, Mr. H. D. Hill in the chair. There was a good attendance of members. The annual report as read showed that five teams had been entered for the championship matches, th r second and third grade competitions being curried oil' without the teams sustaining a single defeat. The representative team that toured the South included JO. MacCorniick, cue of the club's ey-ju-niors, who acquitted himself creditably. The financial statement showed the club to bo it: a better position than for years past, there being a balance in hand, alter paying elf liabilities, amounting to some £40. The trophies for the past season in the various grades were presented as under: — First grade. E. MacCormick (batting), K. .N'eill (bowling); second grade, W. S. Hunter (batting), R. C. Airey (bowling) ; third grade, W. 11. Graham (batting), K. McCoy (bowling); fourth grade, W. Xyberg (batting), C. Eastgate (bowling!. Mr. B. J. M. Kemp's trophy for the best bowling average in the club was won by C. Eastgate with Y3 wickets at a cost of 3.5. per wicket.
