ARAB LOVE TRAGEDY.
A FAMILY DISGRACE,
Two Arabs have been tried at Algiers Assizes for the murder of a young woman to whom they were respectively brother and cousin. According to the ease for the prosecution, the girl had been betrayed by another member of the tribe, and when the fact came to the knowledge of her relatives they decided on her death as the only possible atonement for the disgrace she had .brought upon the family. The girl, knowing what was in store for her. ran away with the assistance of her lover, but the prisoners, who had been deputed to carry out the family sentence, followed and overtook her, and some days later her body was found with the throat cut. The prisoners were convicted, and sentenced to eight years' imprisonment.
