ENTERTAINMENTS AND MEETINGS.

DUX'S GAIETY COMPANY.

TO-NIGHT at the City Hall Miss Irene Franklin will make her last appearance in Auckland, There will be the usual weekly change of programme to-night, when those popular and clever comedians, Messrs. Pone and Sayles, appear for the last Saturday night but one, their last seven nights being announced. This evening will aba be the occasion of "The Tylers," introducing for the lust time in Now Zealand their great gymnastic act entitled "Flight through mid-air.' THE JUBILEE SINGERS. The Jubilee Singers appear again this evening in a new and choice programme, and will bring their season to a close on Monday evening. There will be a performance this afternoon for families and children, when a special programme will be given. There was a large audience present last evening, and they were lavish in their approbation. Every item was thoroughly enjoyable, and was followed by much applause. The Misses Giblxjii:,, Underwood, and 'obiter, cuarmed their listeners with their vocal abilities, and Messrs. McAdoo, Coinn.s, Molt, and Prof. Into were also much appreciated, tho latter having to respond twice tor hi- piano soios. The Jubilee Wingers appear at V. hangarei on Tuesday evening. PAKNELL LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETY. There was a large attendance at the meeting cl the Pane-,. Literary and Debating Society last evening when the president oi the society (the Rev. 11. Kelly, M.A.) delivered a lecture entitled "The Shams of Modern Life.'' Tin; lecture, which proved both interesting and entertaining, was followed by a discussion, in which (several of the members present took part. At the conclusion of the lecture the Rev. 11. Kelly was accorded a hearty vote of thank.?. ST. MARY'S PARISH CONCERT. A large, and enthusiastic audience attended the conceit held in the St. Mary's Hail, Panic!!, la ■ : night, in aid of the funds that are being collected to have the church organ renovated. The programme picsctitei: was a lengthy one, and contained many choice items, and in almost every instance encores were demanded. Those contributing to Iho programme were as follows :—Misses Tapper, hid left, Mesdames Go.-s, Fleming. Wliittakcr, Han-op and Messrs. M. Fleming, 11. and S. Bollard, 15. Coddy, H. Hunt, 11. Chevis, J. Curtis, Bourtney and F. Uphill. St. Mary's choir also rendered several enjoyable part song-. During an inter'.;;l the Rev. G. Mac-Murray, in (lie name of the parishioners, presented Mr. i.esiie Hunt with a gold pencil as a mark of their esteem.
