CampbellBannemian, said the Boers were scattered over the Orange River and Transvaal colonies, and small portions of Cape Colony in commandos of LOO and 200, the largest mentioned being 600 strong, ft was estimated that the total number of Boers in the, field was 17,000. The rumours regarding peace negotiations were baseless.
