TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — it a fact that the Government object to the proposed electric tramway to Onehunga, on the grounds that it would reduce the profits on the railway? In other words, are the householders on. the route from Auckland to Onehunga to bo left without an electric tram service for fear that the revenue of the railway might be diminished? Talk about the abuse of monopolies in the hands of private individuals— our Government have the power to coerce the public into using their conveyances.l am, etc., On the Route,
